'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: THE DEATH OF A SPECIALIST!

Thane is brought to a Cylon Centurion interrogator.

Despite his Theta Clone disguise, Thane has ultimately been captured and brought before a Cylon squad for interrogation, watched by a shocked Clone Community. As Starbuck and Tenna arrive, they soon witness Thane, who refuses to cooperate with his captors, commit suicide as he gets a Cylon to inadvertently activate a devastating handmine he has had hidden about his person.

Tenna attends to Ser 5-9's deep laser whip wounds before he tells her to warn Starbuck of Thane's capture. A deleted scene moment.

Starbuck gathers with the Clones as Ser 5-9's wounds continue to be tended to.

The interrogation continues...

Thane fools the Cylons into using his handmine.

The suicide bomb handmine goes off in a brief and brutal scene. Note the stuntman as Thane wearing a face mask.

Thane takes out the Cylons.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: SITUATION - CRITICAL!

Boomer checks on the injured Starbuck within the crashed shuttle.

Emergency lights soon activated, the Galacticans have survived the crashlanding on Arcta but only just, thanks to the piloting skills of a head-wounded Starbuck. Now the team begins to check on their wounded and equipment but know they will have to evacuate to the Snowram as soon as possible, what with the Cylons surely knowing their crashed position from the air.

Starbuck is soon consoled by Boomer than only his friend's piloting skills saved them from death.

Leda tends to the injured Vickers, of which Voight is also in need of medical help.

Wolfe and Thane try to help the injured Voight and keep him warm.

In the meantime, Wolfe has managed to secure a blaster from one of the injured warriors. Later, he and Thane confront Croft, whom they are disappointed in at his return to being loyal to his former jailers, over their plans to make a break from their captors as soon as they are able...

Unseen by the others Wolfe steals Voight's blaster.

A rare close-up look at a Colonial sidearm prop.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: ALTERCATIONS WITH DEPARTURE

The final preparations for departure within the Galactica shuttle are underway but a fight soon breaks out between the demolitions team and the support team, resulting in a temporary paralysis given to Vickers by Thane, whilst Wolfe and Haals come to their first physical conflict.

Haals slips over Thane.

Vickers is challeneged by Thane.

Haals tries to come through...

Wolfe attacks Vickers as Thane soon fights Wolfe.

Thane paralyses Vickers as Leda tries to stop him.

Boomer and Apollo break up the fight.

Leda confirms Vickers has a temporary paralysis but will recover.

Thane has a practical hand mine when apprehended.

Uneasy tension exists with the arrival of Croft.

Apollo tells Croft that 'Nobody is expendable' on the mission as the shuttle readies for departure.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: THE GALACTICA TASK FORCE ASSEMBLES...

Adama addresses the selected to win them over to the mission.

Cleaned-up, put in uniform, the four criminal members of the new Demolition Team are brought to Commander Adama, as the life or death situation is discussed and the full mission to the ice planet Arcta initiated. Alongside the four, led by Colonel Croft, will be a team of six Colonial Warriors, led by Captain Apollo, Lt. Boomer (who, in later filmed footage for the two-parter, revealed he pulled a tour of duty at ice station Thula), and, incredulously, Lt. Starbuck!

Interestingly, this episode has references to pursuit by 'Cylon Battlestars' rather than Basestars - presumably script continuity gaffes. But wouldn't it have been interesting to have seen another type of heavy duty Cylon space vehicle in the series?

Unused angle of Wolfe and Croft, the latter of whom has his rank of Colonial Warrior Colonel temporarily re-activated during the mission.

The Colonial support team is introduced: senior gunnery master Sgt. Haals (Curtis Credel). A deleted scene moment.

A cheer for the selected Sgt. Vickers (Walt Davis) who previously partook as one of the key and valiant rear gun crew at the Battle of Caprica. A deleted scene moment.

Lt. Voight (actor unknown) - laser technician and Chief of Weapons. A deleted scene moment.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: COLLECTING THE 'SPECIALISTS'!

The criminal 'specialists' are gathered on the redressed Viper Pilots quarters set area of Galactica.

With orders received and the list of computer selected 'specialists' collected from the infamous Prison Barge vessel, Starbuck and Boomer inspect 'a cosy little group', comprising a clearly psychopathic alien environments expert Thane (James Olsen), the aggressive but clearly highly intelligent explosives expert Wolfe (Richard Lynch), spiky former med tech Leda (Christine Belford) and her husband-in-hatred, Croft (Roy Thinnes), a former Colonial Warrior turned criminal...

With the criminals soon to be made ready for the upcoming mission, Boomer teases a too quiet to respond Starbuck that this is one mission he knows his friend won't be volunteering for...

Thane - the alien environments expert.

Wolfe - expert in demolitions.

Croft, former Colonial Colonel, and Leda, medical specialist - a marriage made in conflict!

CLASSIC IMAGE: PRISONER OF THE CYLONS!

Having unsuccessfully tried to break out on his own from the Colonials he despises, the former prisoner and alien environments specialist Thane is captured by the Cylons for interrogation, in a tense, soon explosive, scene from GUN ON ICE PLANET ZERO.
