CLASSIC IMAGE: THE PASSING OF SERINA...
Truly one of the series saddest moments, the tenderly written and played finale scenes to Lost Planet of the Gods, as a tearful Boxey and Apollo say their final goodbyes to the fatally wounded Serina (Jane Seymour, getting the finale she wanted and deserved onscreen) in a private area aboard the Galactica.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: THANE IS CAPTURED!
Still in hiding with the Clone children, the news comes through to the Colonial team that Thane, having made an escape attempt and acting separate from the others, has now been captured by the Cylons, a situation that has momentarily concerned Leda and Wolfe, both of whom are working together to plan their own later escape.

'ICE PLANET ZERO' AT 45: FAMILY MATTERS...
![]() |
| "Come here, ya little monster!" |
In their quarters on Galactica, Apollo has fun with young adopted son Boxey and his robot Muffey the Daggit before letting the pair know that he will be departing on an important mission to an ice planet. Avoiding the details of the mission, Apollo tasks Boxey with a special task of his own, beyond regularly saying his prayers, to look after an important personal medallion.
A sweet and tender scene between the characters nicely played by Richard Hatch and Noah Hathaway, who had great father and son chemistry together during the series. Though no reference is made at all to the tragedy of Boxey's TV version mother Serina (Jane Seymour) that was originally planned for the end of Saga of a Star World, music composer Stu Phillips does at least cleverly reprise a brief understated music cue from Serina's theme for the end of the scene.

CLASSIC IMAGE: APOCALYPTIC SURVIVORS!

CLASSIC IMAGE: FAMILY MATTERS!
The Galactica bridge is normally recognised as a place of high-stakes battle and drama, but there's still an occasional time there for quiet and reflection as Adama and Boxey share some quality time together whilst Apollo is currently missing in action, in this scene from The Lost Warrior.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE MUSHIES HUNTER!
Enjoying a little quality time with his friends in the Rejuvenation Centre deep within the Galactica, Boxey has a special trick up his sleeve with regards to his robot daggit's abilities, in this sweet moment, and important later plot device function, from Fire In Space.

CLASSIC IMAGE: CLONE FREEDOM!
The Cylon garrison on Arcta has been defeated and our Colonial heroes gather to say goodbye to the ultimately friendly Doctor Ravashol and his clone family, at the conclusion to Gun on Ice Planet Zero. Note actor Liam Sullivan between Dan O'Herlihy as Doctor Ravashol and Richard Apollo as Apollo- apart from this brief moment, all his scenes as the Clone Council leader were cut from the revamped adventure, originally planned as a TV movie before crossing over to become a more action-packed two-parter. A situation that left Sullivan saddened, later recalling to a edition of Starlog magazine.

'GALACTICA' AT 40: THE ORIGINAL FINALE
Having just escaped with their lives from the trap at Carillon, but thankfully with the fuel needed to continue their search for Earth, the Galactican's (including a survived Sire Uri) meet for a subdued celebration anthem singalong of their second deliverance from Cylon fury.
This original unused ending was soon deemed slow and unsuccessful, to be abandoned in the editing, especially along with the rather miserable idea of Serina literally running away from Apollo and Boxey, knowing she has scant little time left to live from her radiation poisoning. Soon enough, as filming was underway on the subsequent originally planned TV movie, Gun on Ice Planet Zero, attempts were successfully made by Glen A. Larson to bring a disgruntled Jane Seymour back for a better demise in The Tombs of Kobol (aka Lost Planet of the Gods), by then being specifically designed as a two-part primer for ABC's weekly series demands.
We hope you've enjoyed our year-long coverage of the pilot episode/feature-film of Saga of A Star World!

'GALACTICA' AT 40: STARBUCK AND BOXEY TO THE RESCUE!
Having rescued a now all-forgiving Cassiopeia from a grisly fate (though her demise was originally conceived in the first scripts), Starbuck (with Boxey in tow) takes on a Cylon (or more than one) in an action sequence set in the Ovion mines that never made it to the final cut, or was re-shot on a new set alongside Richard Hatch as Apollo, as part of material later directed by Alan J. Levi before he commenced directorial duties on Gun on Ice Planet Zero.

| A shot taken in rehearsal- note the Cylon's red eye isn't on. |
Numerous publicity photos were also taken of that day's scene filming (on a set barely seen in the finished film or pilot version), which would promo the alien Ovions, a Cylon Warrior, and Noah Hathaway as Boxey with Dirk Benedict as Starbuck. These images would become well known worldwide.

'GALACTICA' AT 40: INTRODUCING BOXEY AND MUFFIT!
![]() |
| A posed image taken during filming of Gun on Ice Planet Zero. |
Apollo and Serina may do their best to keep them safe and away from harm, but there's no doubt about it-young Boxey (Noah Hathaway) and his lovable replacement Daggit in robot 'Muffey' (Evie the Chimp) are an absolute magnet in attracting trouble, be it from Cylons, reptilian-esque Ovions, and more, in the future beyond the Galactica's exodus from the Twelve Colonies. Intriguingly, the feature film version of Saga of a Star World does not state that Boxey is Serina's child, merely a survivor of the attack on Caprica, unlike the TV version and comic book adaptation.
