'MISSION' AT 45: CAIN'S FIREPOWER!

Upside down image used for the film's international lobby card.

Unaware that the Galactica has been critically wounded by massed Cylon Raiders, the Pegasus moves on its its plan to attack Baltar and his three Basestars, as Cain, helped by agile Viper attack support from Apollo and Starbuck, unleashes all the missile power at his disposal against the enemy. Spectacular explosions follow, of which two Basestars are destroyed. But amidst the carnage, the Pegasus has either disappeared into space or been obliterated in the epic crossfire...

An impressive image used for publicity, even if it is upside down!

'MISSION' AT 45: NO TURNING BACK...

International lobby card.

With the Galactica's Alpha Landing Bay incapacitated and most of the its Viper squadrons aboard the Pegasus, the loyal and bold Captain Apollo is not surprised to discover that Cain's original plan to lead the Cylon task force away from the Colonial Fleet was never actually going to happen, and that instead he'd be going after Baltar's hide, the human traitor currently protected by his three Cylon Basestars.

As an unbelievable wave of enemy shops begins its approach to the Pegasus, Apollo shares his concerns that many brave young pilots won't survive such a head-on punch through of the Cylon armada, but Cain, whom Apollo once admired for his supreme battle tactics and courage, remains resilient in his new strategy, which will ultimately succeed, but not before any non essential personnel and wounded (including Bojay) are evacuated by shuttles to the Galactica...

A memorable scene well played onscreen by Lloyd Bridges and Richard Hatch,

'MISSION' AT 45: THAT 'OTHER' BATTLESTAR!

The Pegasus is unleashed on the Cylons!

"I really think you should take a look at the other Battlestar!"

The Cylon Raider pilot's words seemingly fall on Baltar's deaf ears for a few centons. He's too busy watching what he thinks is the last Battlestar, Galactica's, destruction. Now, unbelievably, and certainly no optical illusion, a second Battlestar, of unknown name and origin so far, is heading his way at ramming speed, of which Baltar's Raider only just escapes the keen sights of its weaponry crosshairs.

"Turn you fool, turn!"

Baltar's Raider narrowly escapes...

With new Vipers sounding the battle charge!

And with fully fuelled Viper fighter wings charging towards them also, Baltar knows that his planned 'rout' and 'humiliation' of the enemy is over as he sounds the retreat for his once overwhelming forces...

'MISSION' AT 45: INTRODUCING THE LEGENDARY 'PEGASUS'!

Bold warriors need bold Battlestars from which to fight, and none could be better in terms of ongoing warfare against the Cylon menace than the trusty Pegasus, a vessel that has been involved in some of Colonial history's greatest conflicts and resolutely survived them all alongside its feared and noted Commander Cain. The rumours of their demise at the Battle of Molocay, prior to the near destruction of humanity, would prove greatly exaggerated indeed...

Two Battlestars' reunited!

If ever an extra spark of morale building hope was needed for the Galactica and its constantly pursued Rag-Tag Fleet, then the return of Cain and the Pegasus is it!

'MISSION GALACTICA' AT 41: A CLASH OF HEROES...

When it comes to incredible, nay near suicidal attack plans that always miraculously seem to pull themselves off, Commander Cain's reputation is secure and legendary. But try telling that to a worried Captain Apollo, conferring with 'The Living Legend' on his latest attempt to divert a Cylon Killer Force away from the Colonial Fleet, in this memorable scene presented in Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack.

CLASSIC IMAGE: "LET'S GET THERE!"

Wearing the ultimate intergalactic poker face, nothing will deter the formidable Commander Cain and his Battlestar Pegasus in their mission to destroy Baltar's Cylon Basestar, not even the two enemy ships now closing on them in order to protect their leader, in this scene from The Living Legend, Part Two.

CLASSIC IMAGE: QUEEN SHEBA OF PEGASUS!

A terrific mid-season addition to the Classic Series, the lovely Anne Lockhart made for a sexy and brave heroine, Lt. Sheba of the Battlestar Pegasus, from the two-parter The Living Legend onwards. A regular guest star in Glen A. Larson productions, including Buck Rogers, Lockhart had originally been offered the role of Athena in the pilot, but turned it down as the role hadn't been fully developed at that time to the point where she wanted to commit. When the new role of Sheba came along a while later, Lockhart didn't hesitate in joining the series-lucky for us.
