Soon passing its incredible 45TH ANNIVERSARY legacy, this is a celebration of the classic, world popular original TV series from 1978, created by Glen A. Larson for UNIVERSAL TELEVISION. Re-live the heroic adventures of the crew of the mighty GALACTICA, fleeing the Cylon tyranny, in its epic search for the lost Thirteenth Tribe on Earth.

WEARING 'GALACTICA'!
I don't know if this terrific item of clothing was actually available beyond the UK, but I was a proud owner of one of these terrific Galactica jackets during 1980/81, which was a birthday present from my mum back in the day, ordered from this actual advert that was in Look-In magazine (in fact, I looked a lot like the kid in the advert!). The back of the jacket showed the terrific movie poster art, and I even remember wearing it when the family went to Los Angeles and saw The Battle of Galactica theme park adventure at Universal Studios, in early April 1980. Such great nostalgic days they were...

CLASSIC IMAGE: BEWARE THE IMPERIOUS LEADER!
The adjusted visage of one of the villainous leaders and schemers of the Cylon Race - the Imperious Leader, used for series marketing purposes, primarily as seen in a classic TV commercial and photo shoot promoting Universal Studios' then super-fun adventure ride The Battle of Galactica, back in 1980/81.

'MISSION GALACTICA' AT 41: FOR UK FANS ONLY...
British fans who loved Battlestar Galactica were happy to receive an official annual from publishers Grandreams for the first film back for 1979, which proved a big success, followed quickly by a worthy successor in Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack for1980, a terrific Christmas stocking filler of all-new colour strips and short story tales that made the most of the saga's filmic scope and great characters, alongside details of the exciting new theatrical release.
It remains a highly-prized and beloved item by BG fans.

'GALACTICA 1980' AT 40: 'CONQUEST OF THE EARTH'!
Then followed the above great art/photo composite poster, which, for the most part, actually ended up being better and more exciting to witness than the total onscreen edited mess, UK 1981 released, that was ultimately to be Conquest of the Earth!

| The poster also made a terrific cover to the rare Japanese laserdisc release! With thanks to John Johnson. |

CLASSIC IMAGE: BEYOND ATHENA...
It may not be Galactica, but its at least related by star, and it'll certainly help thaw out the cold nights: Maren Jensen looking hot, with a very young, equally hot Sharon Stone, plus Susan Buckner, in a posed image for the Wes Craven horror film Deadly Blessing, which I'm assuming was made just after Galactica ended or when Jensen left the series.

At some point I'll have to find this film and see if it's any good...

CLASSIC ART: THE CYLONS ARE BACK!
The Cylons make their presence felt once more, this time as the cover stars to the original VHS release of GALACTICA 1980's feature compilation movie Conquest of the Earth. The poster campaigns, of which this one featured some adapted Ralph McQuarrie artwork, were ultimately better than most of the Galactica spin-off's end product!
