Making a rare excursion from the Galactica, Adama joins Apollo and Serina on an expedition of the abandoned, ruined cities of Kobol, in Part Two of Lost Planet of the Gods.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE UNKNOWN PILOT...

Having escaped the trap of the Carillon casino, our fighter pilot heroes blast off for a rondezvous with Cylon forces attacking the Galactica. All of our main heroes are shown in this pivotal sequence: Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer and Jolly, all itching for payback against their enemies. But who's the guy above? We see him for a few seconds but hadn't seen him previously in the pilot episode. Nor do we see him afterwards?

I'm assuming he was an actor who had some cockpit scene dialogue filmed but cut out from the final version of Saga of a Star World - a series launcher that did have lots of editing/re-editing and re-shoots before its eventual debut. To this writer, he looks very much like a young Richard Chaves, who later became well known for another sci-fi series, War of the Worlds, in the late eighties.

If anyone has any more info on who the actor is/the character he played, please get in touch...

Galactica's loveliest ladies- Cassiopeia, Athena and Sheba- get together to watch a brutal Triad match unfold, involving a bruised and battered Starbuck facing off against his old enemy, Flight Sergeant Ortega, in the opening scenes of Murder on the Rising Star.

CLASSIC IMAGE: "FIVE MICRONS AND CLOSING..."

The always ominous sight of massing Cylon forces soon make their early presence felt on the Galactica's long range scanners, as seen in the episode Fire in Space.

CLASSIC ART: WALT SIMONSON REMEMBERS 'GALACTICA'

Taking the short-lived but enjoyable GALACTICA MARVEL comic book into bigger and broader areas of storytelling than anything then seen in the weekly series, Walt Simonson's writing/artist work on the title's final quarter run proved a memorable stepping stone to bigger and more critically acclaimed work, notably with the likes of THOR.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE CYLON CONNECTION?

The charismatic but subtly malignant Count Iblis, whose voice sounds uncannily like the Cylon's Imperious Leader, tries to provide some reassurance to the captured, for the moment helpless, Count Baltar, stuck in a unique destiny of the Count's making - within a Galactica prison cell - during a classic scene of eerie revelation from War of the Gods Part Two.
