Soon passing its incredible 45TH ANNIVERSARY legacy, this is a celebration of the classic, world popular original TV series from 1978, created by Glen A. Larson for UNIVERSAL TELEVISION. Re-live the heroic adventures of the crew of the mighty GALACTICA, fleeing the Cylon tyranny, in its epic search for the lost Thirteenth Tribe on Earth.

CLASSIC IMAGE: ALL ALONE IN THE NIGHT!
A great shot of the Galactica in deep space, as Apollo, Starbuck and Sheba get ready for strafing runs to help put out the massive fires within its Alpha landing bay, during the heady events of Fire in Space.

CLASSIC ART: 'THE SECOND COMING'!
Sadly, a full length version of Richard Hatch's exciting GALACTICA continuance - The Second Coming - may not have ultimately materialised, but it showed us lots of potential, as seen here with the poster created back in the late nineties.

CLASSIC IMAGE: AN AGGRAVATED CAPTAIN!
Apollo's getting more than a little angry hearing about the "combat stories" of his raw cadets turned Viper pilots, in a funny role reversal moment from Lost Planet of the Gods Part Two.
CLASSIC IMAGE: A REPTILE AND ITS PET!
Rare behind the scenes footage and close-up of actor/stuntman Dick Durock inside the Imperious Leader costume, from the 1978 filming of Saga of a Star World. Always loved that little pet lizard alongside him!

CLASSIC MERCHANDISE: GALACTIC(A) PIZZAZZ!
I've always known of the MARVEL humour magazine PIZZAZZ from the late seventies, but here in the UK I've never seen a copy for sale and overseas charges via Ebay are way too high. I'm assuming it was an attempt to cash in on the always fun MAD. Nevertheless, its always nice to see the Classic GALACTICA series on any cover from back in the day.

CLASSIC IMAGE: OF SERIOUS MIND...
A very serious looking Richard Hatch as Apollo poses for the camera in this rare image I don't recall seeing for Saga of a Star World back in the day.
CLASSIC IMAGE: GOODBYE, LEDA
She'd seemingly hated her husband for a good few years aboard the Prison Barge, but criminal turned Medtech Leda's sacrifice to save Croft from a Cylon blast proves genuinely moving, in a scene from the finale to Gun On Ice Planet Zero.

CLASSIC ART: THE STARBUCK APPRECIATION SOCIETY!
All the girls - human or alien - love a brave warrior, and they especially love that loveable rogue Starbuck, as seen here on the first issue cover of the Dynamite Comics Classic GALACTICA mini-series Starbuck, from 2013, which finally revealed more of his origins. Cover art by Sean Chen.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE PILOT AND THE MED TECH
As equally attractive a pairing as Richard Hatch and Jane Seymour, Dirk Benedict and Laurette Spang were clearly a great combination playing Starbuck and Cassie in the pilot and beyond. This image was taken mid-season, around the time of The Man With Nine Lives.

CLASSIC ART: SHEBA'S JOURNEY!
Some lovely comic cover art showcasing Anne Lockhart's gorgeous Sheba, from her journey on the Battlestar Pegasus, alongside her beloved father in Commander Cain, to her new life aboard the Galactica, and a later romance with Captain Apollo.
If anyone knows the artist, please get in touch.
