Our key heroes grace another sci-fi magazine cover of the time- the colourfully fun SPACE WARS, whose coverage of the film and the series looked positively huge with that special issue. I'll have to pick up a copy of it someday and get a closer look at the features, and that cover's unusual looking Colonial Vipers...

CLASSIC IMAGE: PORTRAIT OF A BEAUTY


Richard Hatch's handsome hero in Apollo couldn't have got a more stunning partner than the lovely Jane Seymour, playing former reporter turned shuttle pilot, Serina, in the pilot for GALACTICA and its weekly series launching two-part episode. Her US film and TV career has skyrocketed ever since, and deservedly so.

BEHIND THE SCENES: THE CYLON FUEL TANKER


Seen on screen at the opening of Saga of a Star World, and then again in stock footage for The Living Legend two-parter, the Cylon Tankers would first make an ominous entrance above a massive cloud which bore thousands of raider craft ready to sneak attack the Twelve Colonies of Mankind. Above is the accomplished Joe Johnston's original production design blueprint.

WILL 'GALACTICA' RETURN TO THE BIG SCREEN?


Looks like UNIVERSAL are still wanting to get GALACTICA up and running again as a movie series. Here's hoping it happens and ultimately proves closer in spirit to the original 1978 version of the galactic epic than its more recent gloomy incarnation- upbeat as THE FORCE AWAKENS recently was in capturing the spirit of the original STAR WARS Trilogy and making box office history.

If this doesn't happen, then it can at least be added to the rest of the fascinating almost list of potential resurrections, which has included ambitions from the likes of Glen A. Larson himself (an IMAX adventure featuring the Pegasus), Richard Hatch (for TV- The Second Coming), Bryan Singer (in 1999, before he got to do The X-Men) and several others...
